Job Description
Leading the activity of the rotating shift work group to safely and effectively operate the process
Encouraging an environment based on teamwork and continuous improvement through support and execution of Six Sigma efforts (raising yields, improving quality, increasing throughput, and cycle time reduction)
Drive and promote positive change in the work environment and production processes
Support ongoing safety, housekeeping, and environmental initiatives
Provide supervisory support for 20 to 30 hourly employees
Develop knowledge of production processes through interaction with Technicians and Engineers, as well as participation on work teams
Drive continuous improvement within the workforce through mentoring and coaching
Evaluate, identifies needs, and develops skills of the workforce
Support Maintenance and Engineering in the execution of projects
Actively involved in preparation and execution of Lockout and Tag Out (LOTO) equipment
Rotating Shift: 8a-4p for 7 days; 4p-12a for 7 days; 12a-8a for 7 days
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Two years management of direct reports
Additional or Preferred Qualifications (not required)
Bachelors Degree preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft products, KRONOS and SAP preferred – must be able to manipulate data
Minimum 2 years experience in continuous chemical/fiber processing
Experience in a union environment preferred
Demonstrated team player
Demonstrated strong leadership traits
Ability to lead and coach individuals to exceed performance goals and metrics
Six Sigma and lean manufacturing experience is a plus
Hands-on LOTO experience preferred
